Which digital SLR gives the best out of the camera pictures?
Here's the link to a related forum discussion. My personal pick among the so-called entry-level DSLR cameras would be the Nikon D40. This 6 Megapixel camera produces nice, colorful and contrasty pictures at default settings, and has a few other preset modes which help tune the settings deemed most appropriate for the scene you want to shoot. A comprehensive set of in-camera editing features allow you create copies of images from the original with the desired tweaks. The Nikon D50 and D80 come in very close behind, tied at second spot.
