  1. The Nikon D40's autofocus performance might seem a bit slower than a rival camera, say the Canon Digital Rebel XTi / 400D. This is due to the relatively slow-focusing standard kit lens that comes with the camera, the Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX. You'll notice a great improvement in AF speed if you mounted a faster-focusing lens such as the Nikkor 18-135mm on the D40.
  2. Do you experience underexposure when using bounced flash with the D40 + SB-400?
