Nikon D80 images by Packy with D80, Nikkor 18-200 VR lens and SB-600 flash Indoor pancake shots by Packy. I like the first photo where he managed to shoot a photo of the flipped pancake in the air. Packy shares some tips for indoor photography with flash:
  • Set the D80 on "Manual Mode and start off with a shutter speed of 1/80s at f5.6 at ISO400". The SB-600 needs to be put into TTL mode (instead of TTL-BL, which is more suited for fill flash). Alternatively, put the camera into spot metering mode and this automatically sets up the SB-600 in the TTL mode. Bounce the flash by pointing the head at the ceiling (a white ceiling is preferable). Use Auto White Balance, or Flash WB for a warmer tone. (source)
                          • Even though the shutter speed was only 1/80 seconds, the flipped pancake was "frozen" due by the extremely short duration of the flash. (source)
